Specimen Type
Select the specimen type that you want the system to automatically create cultures for from the specimen type list.

Note: You can only have one set of default direct tests for each specimen type. If you have already defined some default direct tests for this specimen type then adding a new set of direct tests will replace any that you have previously set up.

Direct Tests
Select one or more direct tests from the direct test list. Whenever you create a specimen with this specimen type a direct test record for each direct test you have selected will be created on the specimen record automatically.

When you have finished entering the new direct test defaults, click the Save button.

Step 5

The specimen type and the direct test defaults will now be displayed on the specimen configuration screen.

Step 6

Logout of the system by clicking the logout button in the top right of the  screen.

Note: Configuration changes only take affect when you log into the system.

Step 7

Now when you receive a new specimen or acknowledge the receipt of a new specimen the default direct test you have created will be automatically enabled on the Select Tests page.

These automatic defaults can be overridden when the specimen is received if desired.
