Roles define a set of permissions and thereby serve to determine the scope of access a user has to the system. As with most aspects of SEDRI LIMS, roles are completely configurable and can be easily added, scoped, edited and deleted in accordance with individual requirements. The system makes use of two core sets of permissions:
1. Menu Permissions
These regulate the navigation options available to the user from the main menu. For a comprehensive introduction to menu permissions see: Understanding Menu Permissions.
2. Event Permissions
These regulate the actions a user can take while logged into the system. For a comprehensive introduction to event permissions see: Understanding Event Permissions.
Once a role has been successfully configured, it can be assigned to new or existing users. Please see Add a New user and Edit a User for examples.
