Understanding the Patient Record View

The patient record-view provides full details of an individual patient and is an example of a standard record-view (see <link>Record Views</link> for details of the shared properties and capabilities of all record-view types).  It can be accessed from the patient list-view, either by double-clicking on a single patient row (away from the action icons) or by clicking on the “eye” (view) icon.

Beyond the patient specific actions along the top, followed by the set of populated patient attributes, the following tables are present:

  • Specimens: Displays all specimens linked to the patient, including archived items. This view is a streamlined version of the main specimen list, but it behaves identically: the same actions are available, and opening any specimen takes you to the standard specimen record view exactly as if you had accessed it from the main list.
  • Comments: Shows all comments associated with the patient, both standard and free‑text, including the author and timestamp. Entries are displayed in chronological order.
  • Report History: Lists all reports generated for the patient’s specimens. Reports can be downloaded as PDFs when needed.
