The system can generate labels for printing and attaching to physical items such as name tags, specimen containers, or other workflow materials. While such labels typically include barcodes that can be scanned to instantly retrieve the corresponding record in the system, all label content is fully configurable to support local workflows and standard operating procedures.
In SEDRI‑LIMS, two types of labels are available: patient labels and specimen labels. Each type offers two independently configurable variants (Type 1 and Type 2), allowing flexibility where different physical items require distinct label sizes and/or formats.
Patient labels are commonly attached to patient name tags or bedside documentation, while specimen labels are usually applied to specimen containers and/or specimen reports, depending on the workflow.
