Export Configuration to File

It is recommended that configuration be routinely backed up before making significant changes, allowing it to be restored if anything goes wrong.

Step 1

Select the Configuration option from the main menu, followed by the History sub-option.

Note: The visibility of main menu options is determined by menu permissions. For more information about configuring menu permissions, see: Understanding Menu Permissions.

Step 2

Select Export Configuration to File from the action bar.

The Export Configuration Settings form should appear.

Step 3

Set one or more of the individual toggles to Yes to include those functional areas in the configuration backup.  The available areas are described below:

  • Configuration:  Includes forms, direct and culture test definitions (excluding tables and options), label definitions and general settings.
  • Lists:  Includes tables and options.
  • Coding:  Includes organism lists, antibiotics, breakpoints, test patterns and alerts.
  • Quality Control:  Includes IQC profile definitions.
  • Export Profiles:  Include export profile definitions.
  • Language:  Includes all language customisations, except those that are part of table options.

Select Retrieve Export to download the selected configuration items as a coded text file.  A brief browser notification will confirm that config_export.txt has been downloaded to your Downloads folder.  This file should be stored securely for potential configuration recovery.
