Edit a Direct Test (via the Direct Tests List View)

Step 1

Select the Direct Tests option from the main menu under Tests.

Note: The visibility of main menu options is determined by menu permissions. For more information about configuring menu permissions, see: Understanding Menu Permissions.

Step 2

Use the filters to find the direct test you wish to edit, e.g. the Test filter, for the type, and/or the Test Status filter if you are looking specifically for a test in the Requested state (no results yet entered) or the Completed state (some or all results already entered).

Step 3

Select the Edit Test icon (hover over each icon for the name of the action).

Note: Options to add or manage direct tests will only be available (visible) if the current user's role has the requisite permissions AND the specimen is in an appropriate state. For example, direct test options would not typically be available in the "Pending Arrival" or "Pending Approval" states.

Step 4

A form will appear, allowing you to edit the test. The image below shows an example form for the Cell Count Test, built into the system by default.

The form content will vary with test type, and may represent a custom test for your environment. Enter or edit the results and select Save.

Once the form disappears, you should see that the Status column of the corresponding test in the main list now shows as Completed (if it wasn’t already), and that the Completed column has been updated with the current date and time.
