The Home page, which can be selected at any time via the Home option at the top of the main navigation menu on the left-hand-side, is the first page that will appear after logging in.
At present, this page simply contains shortcut links to the main Specimen page for specific needs. These shortcuts are divided into three sections:
1) Specimen State
This section (entitled Specimen States) contains individual buttons for each State that a specimen can be in, e.g. Pending Arrival, Specimen Received, Specimen Active, etc. Furthermore, each button also includes the number of specimens that are current in the corresponding state, e.g. Pending Arrival 4.
2) Specimen Type
This section (entitled Specimen Types) contains individual buttons for each specimen type, e.g. Blood, Cerebrospinal Fluid, Ear, etc. Furthermore, each button also includes the current number of specimens of the corresponding type, e.g. Cerebrospinal Fluid 11.
3) Tags
This section (entitled Tags) contains individual buttons for each tag that has been defined in the system, e.g. Critical Alert, Warning, etc. Furthermore, each button also includes the current number of specimens for which the corresponding tag is in effect, e.g. Critical Alert 3.
On selection of a specific shortcut button, the system will automatically transition to the main Specimens screen, usually accessed by selecting the Specimens option from the main navigation menu on the left-hand-side of the screen. In addition to this, the appropriate filter option will be automatically set. For example, if you select the Pending Arrival button in the Specimen States section, the State filter (on the filter bar, near the top of the page), will be automatically set to Pending Arrival, as illustrated below.
Alternatively, if you select the Cerebrospinal Fluid button in the Specimen Types section, the Type filter (on the filter bar, near the top of the page), will be automatically set to Cerebrospinal Fluid, as illustrated below.
