Step 1
Select the Specimens option from the main menu.
Step 2
Select the target specimen by clicking anywhere on the specimen row except for the action icons.
There are a couple of ways to delete a direct test from this point:
Step 3a (First Method)
One method is to select the Direct Tests icon button at the top of the screen (underneath the page title and description), followed by View/Update from the two options that appear underneath it.
Selecting the Direct Tests icon on the selected specimen row (hover over each icon for the name of the action or click on the overflow icon ("...") for the full action list) has exactly the same effect. In both cases, a form will appear that displays any previously added direct tests as "cards" (boxes containing summary details) and a single action card (with the same size and shape as the other cards) inviting you to add a new test. If only the latter card appears, it means no tests have yet been added and hence there are no tests to delete.
To delete a test, select the “X” icon in the top-right corner of the test card. A confirmation form will appear.
Select the Delete button to confirm. The previous form will reappear, this time without a card for the deleted test. Press the Close button to exit the Direct Tests form.
Step 3b (Second Method)
Select the “eye” (view) icon for, or double-click on, the target specimen to enter the specimen record view. If one or more direct tests have already been added to the specimen, you should see them in the Direct Tests table, just under the “Specimen Details” section. If the table is empty, it means you have not yet added a direct test and hence do not have a test to delete.
Select the “Delete” icon for the test you wish to delete (hover over each icon for the name of the action). If the delete icon is not displayed, this suggests you either do not have the requisite permissions, or the specimen is not in an appropriate state (see earlier note in step 2). A confirmation form will appear.
Select the Delete button to confirm. The form will disappear and the deleted test should now be absent from the Direct Tests table.
