Step 1
Select the Alerts & Tags option under Coding on the main menu.
Step 2
Select the Add Organism Alert button, which appears at the top of the screen.
Step 3
The Alert Details page will appear. Use the fields to specify general alert properties.
Alert Name
The name of the alert that you wish to appear in lists and dropdowns.
Message
The warning message that you wish to appear when the alert conditions are met.
Alert Type
The alert format - for information about setting up alert types see:
Source
The set of guidelines under which you would like the alert to apply (where appropriate).
Tags to set
The tags you would like to be generated whenever the alert is triggered - for information about setting up tags see:
Enabled
Setting this to "Yes" will make the alert active.
When you are ready to proceed, click Next which appears at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4
The Set Organism Scope screen will appear - You have three options for scoping an organism.
Order
Genus
Organism Group
When you have finished scoping the organism, click Next at the bottom of the screen to proceed to the alert criteria page.
Step 5
The Alert Criteria page will appear. Use the grid and field to specify criteria for the new alert.

When you are done setting up alert criteria, click Finish to save the new alert.
Step 6
Verify that the new alert appears in the list.
