Step 1
Select the Test Patterns option from the main menu.
Step 2
Select the Add Test Pattern option, which appears at the top of the page.
Step 3
The general add test pattern window will appear, fill in the information as appropriate.
Name
Use this field to give the test pattern a unique name.
Host
Use the dropdown to associate the test pattern with a host (i.e. Human or Animal). For more information about how to configure hosts, see: .
Default
Setting this to "Yes" will make this the test pattern defaulted to when adding AST results (see: for more).
Step 4
When you have finished entering the general information, click Next to proceed.
Step 5
The organism definition window will appear, there are two ways to define organism scope:
Taxonomically
Manually scope the organism by selecting from the dropdowns. Each dropdown represents a level in the taxonomic hierarchy.
From a local organism list
Use the organism group dropdown to select an organism from a pre-defined local organism list.
Step 6
When you have finished scoping the organism, click Next to proceed to the antibiotics screen
Step 7
The add antibiotics window will appear - Specify the antibiotic, dosage and test method for each test pattern component.
Antibiotic
Use the multiselect to choose an antibiotic. Typing in the field will generate a list of potential matches.
Test Method
Use the dropdown to associate a test pattern line with a test method (i.e. Disk or MIC). For more information about test methods, see: .
Guidelines
Use the dropdown to associate a test pattern line with a set of guidelines (i.e. CLSI/EUCAST). For more information about source guidelines, see: .
Dosage
Type the antibiotic dosage associated with the test pattern line here.
Add Line
This button is used to add additional test pattern lines. These can be removed by clicking .
Step 8
When you have finished adding antibiotic lines, click Finish at the bottom of the screen to add the test pattern.
Step 9
Verify that the newly created test pattern appears in the list.
