Logging In and Out

To access the system from any device, type the correct URL into your preferred browser's address bar and press Enter. The login page should then appear.

The URL in the above image is an example only; yours will be different.  Note the version number in the bottom-left corner of the screen.  Again, this is just an example and will not necessarily match your version.

Type your username and password into the appropriate fields and select the Login button.  If the following error is displayed, it means that your browser has been unable to locate the system.  Either the system is not running or it is not reachable on the network.  Check with your system administrator.

While the system is authenticating your login credentials, you should see the following screen.  Depending on your deployment mode, this step may happen too quickly to be observed.

Once you have been successfully authenticated, you should see the following screen.  During this phase, the browser is receiving all the information it needs to provide a smooth and efficient user experience.  On successful completion of the login process, the <link>Home</link> screen should appear.

To log out of the system, select the log-out button on the far right-hand-side of the title bar, as shown below.

Note: While clicking the browser refresh button will return you to the login page, this will not invalidate your session and hence is not recommended.

If your session is inactive for a configured period (the default is 10 minutes), i.e. you do not use the mouse or touch the keyboard, the Inactivity Timeout feature will activate.  The following message box will be displayed, asking you whether you wish to stay logged-in or to be logged out of the system.

If no action is taken, you will be logged out automatically after a further minute.  See <link>Configuration -> Settings</link> for instructions on changing the inactivity timeout period.
